Using 1999.io in Android
by Frank McPherson Saturday, April 30, 2016

Finally got the 1999.io editor to load in Chrome on my tablet running Android. For some reason after switching to the Twitter app for authentication, rather than returning to Chrome the Twitter app would load the web page. Worse, the authentication would not occur in Chrome, so I could never log in.

To resolve the problem I uninstalled the Twitter app, opened my 1999.io editor site, and this time the authentication occurred completely within Chrome. I am going to keep Twitter off this tablet because I prefer Fenix anyway.

It occurs to me that the problem may be due to the fact that I had Twitter configured to load web pages within the app. It may be that if I configured Twitter to load web sets via Chrome the authentication would work as planned.

I do see an issue where the editor select features conflict with Android select. When you select text in the editor, rather than seeing the editor pop up for formatting and linking the Android cut, copy, and paste dialog appears.
