Testing Android O Battery Life
by Frank McPherson Tuesday, June 13, 2017

I installed Android O on my Nexus 6P last week. My observation is that battery life has not been ask good as with Android N. I've installed AccuBattery and over night the battery decreased 21%, which seems to me to be a higher percentage than it should be. I thought doze mode in Android N dramatically slowed that rate down when the phone is sitting, unused, with the screen off.

Granted, the version of Android O I am using is a beta, or Developer Preview 3, and there is a chance battery life will improve with a later release.

Update: I restarted my phone, and the battery drain is much more in line with expectations at the moment; probably should have restarted my phone after the upgrade finished. I am anxious to see what the battery drain is like tonight.
